British International Investment (BII) is the UK government’s development finance institution, investing in businesses and projects that support economic growth and sustainability in emerging markets. Formerly known as CDC Group, it was rebranded in 2021 to reflect a broader development mandate. BII focuses on sectors such as clean energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and financial inclusion, deploying capital across Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. It aims to catalyse private investment while delivering measurable social and environmental impact.
